‘I-S.E.R.V.E’ (Institute for Scientific Research on Vedas) is a Charitable Trust, created on the advise and divine command of His Holiness Parama Pujya Sri Sri Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji, with its head quarters at Hyderabad, India. One and half years after its inauguration, Sri Swamiji visited this institute on 26th March, 2006 to inspect its progress and cheer up the intellectuals dedicated to it.
On this occasion, at 3 pm a Workshop on Vedic Sciences was held in the premises of I-SERVE. This event was graced by many prominent personalities including scientists, professors, renowned doctors, Sanskrit Pundits and IAS officers including Sri J. Rambabu, I.A.S, former Special Chief Secretary, Govt. of A.P, Sri B.K. Rao, and Sri P. Bhaskar Prasad.
The dignitaries were welcomed to the Dais by Sri C.B.K Sastry, Scientist, GSI and the Organizing Secretary,
I-SERVE. Dr.D. Swaminathan, Member, National Advisory Council & Chairman, JNIAS, & Vice Chairman, A.P. Planning Commission, was the Chief Guest for this workshop, United Nations Nuclear Scientist Prof. Gandikota VSRK Somayajulu was the Guest of Honour. Other special invitees include Prof. V.L.S. BhimaSankaram, Honorable member -National Science Academy INSA, Prof. I. Sanjeeva Rao, Former Chairman, Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia committee, Govt of India, Prof. Achyutha Ramaiah from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Sri Kuppa Venkata Krishna Murty, the Chairman & Managing Trustee of I-SERVE, the Vidyadhikari of Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysore, the Editor of Bhaktimala, presided over the function.
Sri Kuppa Krishna Murty in his presidential address explained the aims, objectives and plans of SERVE to the distinguished gathering and to the general devotees. Prof. D. Swaminathan in his address praised the efforts of the institute and said that the progress of I-SERVE is the progress for human existence. Prof. Somayajulu, Prof. BhimaSankaram & Prof. Achyutha Ramaiah offered their complete support and said that the success of mankind depends on the success of this kind of institutes and hence everyone should put in efforts to support them. Later Founder and Secretary of ESWARA Dr. T.S. Ramakrishna advised that Vedic Sciences should be introduced as a classroom subject right from school level to create awareness from childhood and said SERVE is competent of doing it. Prof. G.S. Murthy a well-known mathematician and Researcher on SRICHAKRA explained the concept of Vedic mathematics. Prof Vasudeva Rao Vadoothker, Scientist in DRDL explained to the house about his new computer language which is based on Paniniya Vyakarana Sutras and said that his ideas are invoked by Sri Swamiji during meditation. Dr. M.V.S. Murthy a researcher on “AURA” explained about the positive and negative energies
At 6 PM, Sri Swamiji arrived to the I-SERVE administrative office and Pujya Gurudeva was welcomed with Arati & Poornakumbha. His Holiness then visited the free Ayurvedic clinic run by I-SERVE in its premises and blessed the doctors
Amidst ecstasy of the devotees Sri Swamiji adored the dais where the workshop was conducted. Sri Kuppa Krishna Murthy garlanded Sri Swamiji and presented a stone idol of Goddess Saraswathi Memento to His Holiness.
Later Sri Swamiji released the books “Modern Sciences in the Ancient Land” written by Sri Kuppa Venkata Krishna Murthy and translated into English by Dr. Vemuri Ramesam & “Ayurvedic Medicare as Evidence Based Medicine - volume 2” and distributed the copies to the scientists. Flower garlands were offered to Sri Swamiji by Dr. D. Swaminathan on behalf of all the Scientists gathered there and Sri Ramesh Gupta on behalf of Ashta Laxmi temple committee
In his speech, Sri Kuppa Krishna Murthy praised the depth of Sri Swamiji’s scientific Vision, His inspiration behind every activity and explained to His Holiness the progress of all the projects undertaken so far by I-SERVE.
In His benedictory address Sri Swamiji emphasized the need for each one’s involvement in the research activities and declared that the research results would be made available to the society and mankind. Sri Swamiji advised to put in every possible effort for the success of this institute and it is the responsibility of one and all to support the research activities. He also said that the SERVE has been established for the betterment of human race and to fulfill many noble goals. Sri Swamiji emphasized the need for each one’s involvement in the activities for developing the Institute. With sincere efforts there is nothing that cannot be achieved. Easy & quick results cannot be seen in such research process and would require sincere effort, hard work, deep concentration that would lead to success. Over & above it is the immense faith in your Sadguru and dedication towards the work that gives you every success said Sri Swamiji. He also said that the austere practices (Tapas) by our Maharshis has given liberation (Moksha) and this kind of scientific research is also equal to that “Tapas” and leads to “Moksha Sadhana”.
Later, Sri Karunakar, a leading Ayurvedic drug Industrialist and Head of “Annapurna Bio Ved”, has presented a few boxes of Ayurvedic Medicines to Pujya Sri Swamiji, so that they can be utilized in the free Ayurvedic dispensary of I-SERVE. Sri Swamiji appreciated this and blessed Sri Karunakar.

This brought to an end the workshop & Sri Swamiji’s visit to I-SERVE. Indeed the beginning of many more to come!!
