SIKKIM GOVERNOR'S VISIT & WORKSHOP ON VEDIC SCIENCES


Ever since the I-SERVE was established, it has been carrying out its research activities on Vedic sciences with utmost sincerity and abundant seriousness. As part of its research , it has been conducting the programmes of Book search, Book study, Seminars, Conferences and Work shops at local as well as National levels.

In this series of activities, yet another programme was held on 09.08.2006 at 10.00A.M by I-SERVE - "Workshop on Vedic Sciences" in its premises at Alakapuri, Hyderabad. The Honorable Governor of Sikkim, a North Eastern State of Union of India, His Excellency Sri V. Rama Raoji has kindly graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated the Workshop. The Chairman of I-SERVE, Sri K.V.Krishna Murty presided over the inaugural function and the workshop. A galaxy of luminaries in the field of sciences were invited to the workshop as Guests of Honour. They included Dr.D.Swaminathan, Former Vice Chancellor, JNTU, Prof. V.L.S. Bheema Sankaram, Fellow-Indian National Science Academy, Prof. G.V.S.R.K. Somayajulu, Former Nuclear Scientist, International Atomic Energy Agency and Prof. Ravva Sri Hari, Former Vice Chancellor Dravidian University

Sri K.V.Krishna Murthy in his Presidential address explained the objectives with which the I-SERVE was started by His Holiness Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji and gave an account of the scientific research activities being carried out by I-SERVE. Then the Governor released the book "Glimpses of Vedic Geometry", the first of the series of books that I-SERVE is going to publish on Vedic Mathematics, written by Sri K.V.Krishna Murty. His Excellency Sri V. Rama Rao, the Governor of Sikkim, in his inaugural address lauded the objectives and efforts of I-SERVE and gave a call that every one should come forward in support of such research organizations and lend their helping hand. He said that the Indian youth is achieving wonders world wide in the fields of Science, Technology and other areas also and gave a message to them to take part in the research activities of Vedic Sciences also and help bring-out our ancient scientific knowledge in the field of sciences and make it available to the present day world in order to protect the Humanity from the long lasting hazards and ill effects the modern science is causing besides its short-term utilities. Later, the Chairman of I-SERVE felicitated His Excellency. After the inaugural ceremony, the Governor left and the deliberations in the workshop on Vedic Sciences continued. Later Dr. D. Swaminathan, Prof. V.L.S. Bheema Sankaram, Prof. G.V.S.R.K Somayajulu and Prof. Ravva Srihari presented their papers in the workshop and lauded the efforts by I-SERVE and requested the scientists & educated community to spare a part of their time for such research activity. Prof. Ravva Sri Hari gave an ample account of references of Vedic Sciences in ancient literature. With the summarizing remarks by the Chairman of the I-SERVE, the deliberations in the workshop were declared concluded.
