Report on the International Conference on "Indian Sciences in the Pre-Adi Sankara Period"

I-SERVE, in colloboration with Neuland Laboratories Ltd., organised a one day International Conference on "Indian Sciences in the Pre-Adi Sankara Period" on Friday, 14th December.

The fact that the ancient vedic literature of India is a treasure trove of scientific excellence is gaining popularity across the world and awareness towards this literature is gaining momentum day by day. The urgent necessity of an alternate approach in scientific explorations, in contrast to the presently available hazardous trends, is pushing the world's intelligentia more towards the vedic literature. This is so because this literature has been consistentlyunraveling more and more precious gems of knowledge as more and more searches are progressing. In view of this, the responsibility of the true Indian thinkers has gone up, since it is they that can explore this literature with better expertise and perfection. Many of the organizations and individuals engaged in similar task are working more on popularly available scientific treatise of India, such as Brihat Samhitha, Krishi Parasaram etc and not concentrating on the remote periods of history. It is in this context, to fill up this gap, I-SERVE has conducted this conference in the august presence of His Holiness Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji, the ponditff of Avadhoota Datta Peetam, Mysore.

Sri Swamiji inaugurated the conference at 9.30 AM by lighting the lamp and then released the following books -

1.Conference volume, consisting of valuable research papers.

2.Presiddhantic Indian Astronomy by Prof. K.D. Abhyankar

3.Yogavasistha Hridaya, Part-IV by Prof. K.V.Krishna Murthy

4.Navayuganiki Navya Kavitha (Pocket size) – By Sri Swamiji himself

5.Modern Science n Vedas, Part – II by Prof. S. Sivaram Babu

Sri Swamiji in his benedictory address said that the word I-SERVE can also be spelled as Eye-Serve and that it means broadening of our vision. He gave a call to the world intelligentsia to note the beauty of this meaning and try to take cognizance of the negative side effects of the modern science and do whatever is possible to mitigate the impending hazards. He also gave a call to them to study the ancient Vedic literature with a scientific spirit, without attaching any tags to that literature. It is the responsibility of every Datta devotee to encourage the I-SERVE, which is doing credible service to humanity, in all possible ways SriSwamiji said. He blessed the participants of  the conference and wished uninterrupted peace to mankind.

In his welcome address Prof. Kuppa Venkata Krishna Murthy, the Chairman & Managing Trustee of I-SERVE has briefed the gathering regarding the herculean task that is being undertaken by the I-SERVE. He said that the main objective of this conference is to drive the attention of the intellectuals towards the scientific achievements of India, roughly in the B.C. Period. He explained that the term "Pre-Adi Shankara Period" is preferred only to give an Indian image to the title and nothing more than that.

Prof. N. Linga Murthy, Vice Chancellor, Kakatiya University, Warangal and Prof. O.R. Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B.R. Amedkar Open University, Hyderabad have graced the conference as guests of honor. Both of them appreciated the efforts that are being made by  I-SERVE in exploring the hidden traditional knowledge without any reservations.
