With a view to spread its activities in Northern India, Institute of Scientific Research On Vedas (I-SERVE) opened up its Delhi on 24th May, 2009. To mark the inauguration I-SERVE organized a National Workshop on that day at India International Centre, Hall no. 2 situated in the National Capital. The theme of the workshop revolved around “The Sciences in Ancient India and their Utility in modern Times.” The workshop was attended by renowned scientists, mathematicians, Sanskrit and Vedic scholars, senior bureaucrats and representatives from trade and Industry besides media and press.
The workshop was inaugurated at 11 AM with lighting the lamp. Smt. Saroja Bala, IRS welcomed the august gathering. The Dias was adored by Prof. K.V. Krishna Murthy, Chairman of I-SERVE, Sri Prabhat Kumar, Ex-Cabinet Secretary, Sri K.N. Srivastava, Director General, Archeological Survey of India, and Prof.K. Rama Subrahmanyam, Professor, IIT, Mumbai. Prof. K.V. Krishna Murthy presided over the inaugural session and chaired the workshop. In his inaugural address he gave an overview of various scientific Research Programs which have already been taken up by different project teams of I-SERVE. The projects undertaken to identify, collect, categorize and study Vedic and Post Vedic Indian Literature with the objective of deciphering and discovering scientific theories, techniques and knowledge contained therein were appreciated by all the participants. Shri Bhatnagar, (represented by his wife, since he is unwell) who did commendable work on the datings of Ram by making use of planetarium software was felicitated on the occasion.
Later, at 1210 PM, the New Delhi Chapter was declared opened by Prof. K.V. Krishna Murthy by handing over the name plaque of the Chapter to Smt Sarojbala IRS, formerly a member of Central Board of direct Taxes (CBDT) , New Delhi and a director of I-SERVE, who humbly accepted the responsibility of heading the Chapter and striving hard for the cause of Vedic sciences in North India. This was followed by a presentation by Smt. Saroj Bala on Historicity of the Era of Lord Ram.
It was the most popular presentation of the day and participants were of the view that the history of the world, particularly of India needs to be re-written by co-relating scientific evidences which include astronomical dating of ancient events by making use of planetarium software, archaeological, geological, oceanographic evidences and remote earth sensing pictures.
The Guests of Honor in the inaugural session of the workshop Sri Prabhat Kumar, Prof.Prof. K.N. Srivastava, Prof. Rama Subrahmanyam, in their speeches lauded the efforts of I-SERVE in unearthing the scientific secrets hidden in Vedic and Post Vedic literature and assured all their help, assistance, association and cooperation for the cause taken up by I-SERVE.
The Afternoon Session was marked with presentations by Prof. M.M. Rao, Osmania University on Co-relation of astronomical, archaeological and geographical datings of Mahabharata war and Dr.K.Siva Rambabu, Principal, Sri Jagadamba College, Guntur on Ancient sciences and their utility in Modern Times, It was followed by interactive session.
During the course of this session several participants enthusiastically offered their services for the cause of spreading the activities of I-SERVE in North India and as a result of this an Advisory Committee and a Working Committee were formed. It was tentatively decided that the Delhi Chapter should initially pursue two projects viz..(1) dating of Ancient events by using scientific tools and (2) Book search in North India.
